The city of Allentown, located north of Philadelphia, was a city that wasn’t gaining much attention. The population was declining, and the previously vibrant Center City District was in decay. By 2013, Allentown began to have significant growth. Over the past several years, Allentown has become the center for commercial investments and great opportunities. The downtown area has welcomed many new residents and is the host for numerous concerts and sporting events at the PPL Center sports arena. Allentown is now one of the fastest growing cities in Pennsylvania.

With any growing city, the need for higher security, especially in the downtown area, became more crucial. Lane Donatelli, the Director of Sales at Trackforce and a long-time advocate for safety and security, felt the need to stay ahead of the curve and create a space where city officials and security leaders could meet and discuss the safety of those who live and visit the downtown area of Allentown. Two years ago, he founded the Allentown Security Forum represented by the local police and sheriff’s department, emergency services, FBI field office, DHS public safety and security executives. The forum meets regularly to exchange information and share ideas.

During their last meeting, the members of the forum discussed the need to enhance “see something, say something” with the children as well as adults.  They also discussed emergency prep plans for a concert that is scheduled at the arena that has been getting a lot of local press. Trackforce is proud to sponsor the Allentown Security Forum and Lane Donatelli for their commitment to safety and security. If you are located in the Allentown area and want to know more about the forum, contact us. A forum like the Allentown Security Forum is beneficial for all participants and for the overall safety of residents and visitors.
